Sustainable Finance and Accounting

The Sustainable Finance and Accounting research group contributes to knowledge and ways of making invisible values visible, so that organisations can play their part in a sustainable and equitable transition through multiple value creation.
Areas of focus for this research group include new ways of multiple-entry bookkeeping and accountability, sustainable finance and investment, and integrated business practices.
We need to find ways of funding change. The growth in the world population, finite natural resources, decreasing biodiversity and the growing inequality between population groups demand that we do things differently. The current way our society and economy are organised is no longer tenable, certainly not if we also want to offer a good life to future generations. So we need to invest in a new economic system, in which efficiency, renewability, reuse, social innovation and equitable distribution are key terms.
